Says a source, "More than actors turning down 'Milan Talkies', Ekta washing her hands of it was a major setback for Tigmanshu. But he did not lose hope and has finally found a producer. The film will go on floors by the end of this year."

Supposed to roll in September 2013, the film kept running into one hurdle after another — casting issues and unavailability of actors who were approached in the last three years. Apparently tired of the repeated delay, Ekta decided to shelve it for good. However, Tigmanshu, who had replaced Milan Luthria at the helm, was determined to make the film.

Tigmanshu remained unavailable for comment, but a source close to him says, "The film's script has been reworked and it will be made with newcomers. At the moment, Tigmanshu is busy with Yaara and once it releases, he will take up 'Milan Talkies'."
