Veteran star Dilip Kumar, who turned 94 yesterday, had a quiet birthday in a Bandra hospital where he is recupertaing post treatment for a swelling in his right leg. The thespian was admitted last Tuesday

Veteran star Dilip Kumar, who turned 94 yesterday, had a quiet birthday in a Bandra hospital where he is recupertaing post treatment for a swelling in his right leg. The thespian was admitted last Tuesday.


When hitlist reached out to his wife, yesteryear actress Saira Banu, she said he is on the road to recovery, "His swelling has reduced and he is being kept under observation in the ICU, but there is nothing to worry. We had hoped he will be discharged on Sunday, but that didn't happen. Hopefully, we will be able to take him home by Tuesday."

Banu said they had a quite celebration at the hospital itself. "My brother passed away earlier this year, so we weren't going to have a big celebration anyway. Some of our close friends and family were present in the afternoon when we cut a cake."

She also thanked all well wishers of the actor on his behalf for being concerned about his health. "We are thankful to all those who have always kept him in their prayers and also for their lovely wishes on his birthday," she said
