A brace each by Dinaz Sarkari and Annuben Jiwasa helped Bai Avabai Framji Petit Girls High School (Bandra) thrash Worli Municipal School (Worli) 4-0 in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association-organised inter-school girls U-16 Division II football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday. The Bandra outfit dominated the match from the start. They built their attack with an intent to disrupt the opposition's defence. It took just 12 minutes for the Bandra team to open their account when forward Dinaz scored from the 18-yard area. In the next minute they doubled when Annuben scored from the penalty area.

At half-time, the Bandra team were leading 2-0. Annuben extended her team's lead with a brace in the 16th minute. The Bandra outfit continued to dominate proceedings as the Worli school buckled under pressure. Dinaz completed the rout for her team with her second goal in the 26th minute. "Our coach Rajaram Shetty Sir asked us to remain calm and stay positive during the game. We stuck to our 3-4-3 formation throughout the game. That as well as our strategies helped us win," Dinaz told mid-day yesterday.
Later in the day, during the boys U-14, Divi I clash, Lakshdham High School (Goregaon) drew 1-1 against Army Public School (Colaba).
Winger Aman Roy netted for the Colaba team while striker Dakshil Patel scored for the Goregaon outfit.
