Industry insiders say that the director has approached model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone to play the pivotal role in the film. Almost all his films are said to have been inspired by real-life episodes.
A source says, “The script is naturally woman-centric and he is keen to have Deepika on board.” Apparently, Dippy is yet to sign the dotted line. Those close to Madhur say Dippy was his first choice for the film tentatively titled Calendar Girl.
“Deepika is a former model and has been a calendar girl herself. Therefore she fits the bill perfectly. It will be interesting to see if she can accommodate her dates for this film,” adds the source. The actress’ spokesperson says, “Nothing formal has come our way from Madhur.” u00a0
