A family in Rohini brutally beat up an MTNL employee for repeatedly warning them not to let their pet defecate in front of his house

A 52-year-old MTNL employee has suffered brain haemorrhage after he was thrashed by two sisters for opposing them for keeping a pet dog. The accused used to take their Labrador for his routine walk and the dog would often defecate outside the victim's house. The victim has opposed them many times for keeping a dog. Resenting his accusing tone, the two sisters called their brother and thrashed the victim brutally. The incident has been reported from Rohini area of outer Delhi.

A senior police official confirmed the incident. He said that the incident took place in the MTNL colony, Rohini. The accused were identified as Anita, Sunita and their brother, Sunil Kumar. "They were arrested and have been sent to jail. The police got a call on Sunday evening. The victim, Murli, is a fourth-grade employee in MTNL. He has severe injuries all over his body and has been hospitalised in Jaipur Golden Hospital, where he is battling for his life," said a senior police official. A police source said that Anita works with a private doctor in the area as a nurse, while Sunil works with a private firm.u00a0

Who's the top dog?
The victim, Murli Sharma, lives in MTNL colony along with his wife Ranjana Sharma and two children. The accused persons live on the second floor of the building, while Murli's house is on the ground floor. The father of the accused persons used to be an official in MTNL. Speaking to this reporter, Ranjana Sharma, wife of the victim, said that Anita and Sunita used to trouble her family using their pet dog.

"They often bring the dog outside our house. They used to hurl abuses if we would oppose them. Their dog would defaecate outside our house. My husband had asked them not to bring the dog near the house but they threatened him each time. On Sunday, around 5 pm they brought the dog outside our house and picked up an argument with my husband, and they brutally thrashed Murli. When I reached the spot, I found him
unconscious in a pool of blood," Ranjana said.

She said that Murli has a fracture in his leg and has injuries all over his body. "Doctor says due to excess bleeding, he fell unconscious and suffered brain haemorrhage. He has not opened his eyes after the incident," she sobbed.

Police apathy
Though the police have arrested the three accused of the incident, the family of the victim is not happy with the cops. They alleged that the police booked the accused under a mild IPC section.u00a0"An FIR under section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been lodged instead of section 307 (attempt to murder)," they alleged.u00a0Police officials said they are taking necessary action in this regard.
