Dogs Fest 2016, a day-long event organised by Keep That Tail Wagging this Sunday, promises to be a treat for your pets. “While we have organised pet socialising events in the past, this is our most ambitious venture. We are expecting more than 500 dogs and have had enquiries from pet owners across the city,” says founder Manish Deo. “Own-ers need not worry about the heat as the venue will have arrangements to protect pets from the sun,” he adds.

The event will kick-start with a pet parade to spread awareness about the needs of specific breeds, adoption and fostering options and also for humans to accept that these four-legged creatures are part of our society. You will also find play zones with carnival games for pets, a doggy pool, a dog ramp walk and even a kissing booth where pet parents can get clicked while kissing their pooches. Earnings from the booth will be donated to an NGO for strays. The organisers will also collect leashes, harnesses, blankets and dog food for the fostered strays at the event.
The event includes demonstrations on all aspects of a dog’s life and a free vet check-up where all healthy pets will be given a badge. One can also de-worm pets. Pet parents can also look forward to a face painter, a sketch artist and grooming centres along with food stalls and live music.
