In the Arbaaz Khan-produced film Sonam plays a runaway bride, who cons unsuspecting men by trapping them into marriage. The film, directed Abhishek Dogra, is releasing on January 23.

Rajkummar is playing the character of Sonu, a Jat from Haryana, who falls prey to Sonam's tricks. Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat are the two other male leads opposite the actor.

"Post Citylights I was emotionally drained so this film kind of allowed me to do a little extra with my character," the actor said.

Rajkummar, who is sharing the screen space with Sonam for the first time, feels it is her finest performance.

"I had wonderful time with Sonam on the set, she never interfered into anything. Most of my scenes are with her. I think this is one of her finest performances and both of us were very comfortable with each other from day one. We had reading sessions before shooting."

The actor, known for rendering nuanced performances, said he enjoyed being a loud character for the first time.

"The character of Sonu is wonderful. He is loud but has a big heart. I will speak in Hariyanvi but that would be easy to understand."

The actor has two other interesting projects lined up besides reteaming with 'Shahid' director Hansal Mehta for their third collaboration.

He will be next seen in Ramesh Sippy's 'Shimla Mirch' which has Hema Malini and Rakul Preet Singh and Mohit Suri's 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' with Vidya Balan and Imran Hashmi.

"Working with Ramesh Sippy and Hema Malini is undoubtedly the best experience, they are legends. Ramesh Sippy and Hemaji have made films like 'Sita Aur Geeta' and 'Sholay'. I have learnt a lot from them."

Rajkummar said in 'Hamari Adhuri Kahaani', most of his scenes are with Vidya.

"Most of my scenes are with Vidya. Unfortunately, I don't have many scenes with Emraan. Vidya is a gem of a person, an honest actress and an excellent human being which translates on screen also. She made my job easier. I was just reacting to her performance."
