Matunga lads beat Bombay Scottish 54-31 to retain under-16 MSSA basketball title

Don Bosco (Matunga) won the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys’ U-16 inter-school basketball title in style, defeating Bombay Scottish (Mahim) 54-31 at the St Dominic Savio High School (Andheri) courts yesterday.

Bosco’s Darshan Gandhi top scored with 28 points, while Suraj Gadiyar added 12. “This title is huge for most of us as this is our last year in school. Scoring in the final is special and credit goes to my teammates and coach (Sayed Rasool),” said Darshan.

Meanwhile, VIBGYOR (Goregaon) beat Bombay Scottish (Mahim) 35-17 to emerge champions in the girls’ U-16 category.
