I began chatting with a woman from Pune a few months ago on Facebook. We shared a lot of information about each other, she told me about her life and I also showed her photographs of my home and family members. We discussed a lot of things that I had never shared with anyone before, simply because I felt comfortable chatting with her. We decided to meet last week because we thought it would be nice to catch up in person after having had all those conversations. We fixed a date at a restaurant and she didn’t show up. When I decided to send her a message, I found that she had blocked me on Facebook. I didn’t have her phone number so I couldn’t call to find out where she was. I am worried about her. Could something have happened to her? I don’t know what to do and can’t tell anyone about her because my family and friends are unaware of her existence.

If something were to happen to her, I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have had the time or inclination to block you from her Facebook friend list. Relax. In all probability, she probably decided not to meet you because the idea freaked her out. Maybe she wasn’t comfortable meeting you because she didn’t know how to face you. Alternatively, maybe she wasn’t a woman from Pune to begin with and you may have been chatting with some guy from Jamshedpur for all you know. These things happen online. Anonymity is a good thing, but can also be a problem because it allows people to do or say things they wouldn’t normally do openly. Let this be a lesson to you, so, the next time you decide to chat with a stranger, you don’t open up about your life before first meeting that person offline.

Ever since my relationship ended, I have had headaches that leave me numb. What should I do?
Start by seeing a doctor.
