Recently engaged Drew Barrymore has revealed that she has started taking cookery lessons as she's tired of her lack of kitchen skills.

Appearing on the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' in America on Wednesday, the 36-year-old actress admitted that she couldn't even manage the most basic task before she signed on for the new course but now she's gradually getting better at cooking.

"I have never been able to make toast or boil water or, like, make eggs and if I ever dared to serve anything people had upset looks on their faces. It was clear that everything I touched in the kitchen was, like, toxic.
"All of a sudden I'm seeing pleasant faces. I'm totally into soups and I'm super into, like, one-pot meals."
However, there are times when her efforts are not rewarded. "I tried to make a Thai yellow curry (and) it was awful, but I did rock sour cream pancakes the other day and they were really good," she added.
