A drug addict molested a teenage girl early in the morning, while she was on her way to attend classes. The Dadar Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested the man after hearing her screams for help. According to the Dadar GRP, the 18-year-old travelled from Mumbai Central station to Dadar station to attend her classes around 6.55 am. When she was walking on the common bridge at the station, an unknown person in his twenties pushed her onto the ground and forcibly kissed her.

“The victim immediately started shouting for help and a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, Nitin Sabane, started running behind the accused and caught hold of him,” said a police officer from the Dadar GRP. The accused was later identified as Bhubaneshwar Kumar Ram Lakhan Tiwari (20), a resident of Uttar Pradesh. “We were surprised by his behaviour, but learnt that he was under the influence of drugs.

We carry out drives to get rid of druggies from station areas, but this person either managed to stay last night or came to the station early in the morning,” added the officer. Tiwari was booked under section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and produced before a holiday court yesterday, which granted him judicial custody till January 17.
