The Anti-Chain Snatching Squad of the city's Crime Branch claim to have cracked a murder case yesterday, in which a 20-year-old man was strangled to death by two of his friends after a dispute.
The incident took place in an open area near Ganesh Mitra mandal in Kothrud on June 21. Following their arrest, the case was transferred to the Kothrud police station.

Vidhate added that it was initially suspected to be a case of suicide, but the post mortem report revealed that the man died from strangulation. “During the investigation, we zeroed in on Chavan and Labade and interrogated them. They confessed to having committed the crime to extract revenge, as Patole had teased Chavan’s sister on one occasion earlier. They called Patole to the open area on June 21, strangled him to death following an altercation and deserted his body in the clump of trees.u00a0The suspects are high school dropouts and deceased was working at a mobile shop in Kothrud. u00a0
