The Eastern Freeway, which is yet to be thrown open to the public, seems already strained by all the expectations pegged on it.

A couple of hours after the Freeway was inaugurated by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan around 3.30 pm yesterday, MiD DAY’s photographer Bipin Kokate noticed that a portion of the bridge had collapsed near Yellow Gate. A crane was positioned under the spot, ready to get cracking at the repair work.
