With registering of voters ending on March 15, the total numbers of eligible balloters for April 17 for Pune constituency has reached 2.14 lakh. Thus, the number of auxiliary polling stations in the district has been increased to 140.
While giving the information about poll preparations, deputy election officer Apurva Wankhede said that 31 teams have been formed to deal with incidents of violation of model code of conduct.
“As many as 62 flying squads have been deployed and 26 people have been positioned at various check posts in the district,” added Wankhede.
The district administration yesterday took action against 66, 285 hoardings and banners of political parties displayed on e public property. About 3,656 banners on private property have been removed by the district administration.
