Dhenkanal (Odisha): A tusker was electrocuted in a mango orchard in Hindol range in Dhenkanal forest division of Odisha, forest officials said on Tuesday.

The elephant, aged around 25 years, had apparently broken a branch of a mango tree which fell on the electric wire
leading to the animal's death on Tuesday.

Though the power line was about 15 feet above the ground, it came down when the heavy branch fell on it and the pachyderm came in contact with the live wire, the officials said.
