Know the corridor
The Elevated Rail Corridor will be constructed on the Western line, starting from Oval Maidan and going all the way to Virar. It will pass through Churchgate, Charni Road, Mumbai Central, Lower Parel, Elphinstone Road, Dadar, Mahim Junction, Bandra, Bandra Terminus, Santacruz, Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivli, Borivli, Dahisar, Bhayandar, Naigaon, Vasai Road and Nalasopara. The corridor is supposed to open to the public in 2019.

What lies ahead for Mumbai
>> Mumbai will get 12 new foot over-bridges, four skywalks, 26 escalators, 8 lifts and 13 ramps at 12 different railway stations on both Central and Western Railway
>>u00a0Separate policy is being mooted by the Centre to take care of the slums along the railway lines and other government lands. The Cabinet is expected to take decision on this, after which rehabilitation plans of these slums be decided
>> After the Oval Maidan-Virar corridor takes off, the proposed elevated corridor on the CST-Panvel line will be taken upu00a0
