Engineering student beaten, poisoned by seniors
A first-year engineering student in Haryana was allegedly thrashed and poisoned by his seniors.
Tula Ram, a first-year student of Gurgaon College of Engineering, was admitted to the ICU of a local hospital on Tuesday after his seniors poisoned him and then beat him up.
This incident happened when Tula Ram came to appear for his first semester exam.
The victim's family members alleged that he went to give his Maths exam and during break time he was found unconscious in the park outside the college campus with foam coming out of his mouth. His body bore severe injuries, his family alleged.
They also added that the cops reached the spot late. Tula Ram lives in Delhi's Vijay Enclave and studies in a College in Bilaspur, Gurgaon.
The college management immediately rushed him to Sunrise Hospital, Gurgaon, where he has been kept on ventilator and his condition is said to be critical.
"He will be on observation for 48 hours. He could have been poisoned," said an official at the hospital.
Some of Tula Ram's friends complained that they had named the seniors with whom he was involved in the fight, but the management did not take action.
His friends said the seniors used to frequently bully Tula Ram. The college management did not even bother to inform his parents about admitting their son in the hospital.
The Gurgaon Police is investigating the case and is presently waiting for the victim to regain consciousness.
