As the 2016 edition of European Championship ended with Portugal defeating France to clinch the title, we look at those 11 players who made the cut to the UEFA team of the tournament.
Portugal's captain Cristiano Ronaldo and the leading goalscorer of the tournament Antoine Griezmann were probably obvious choices to be chosen in the dream XI. Griezmann was also named the best player of Euro 2016.

On the other hand, it is disappointing not to see Welsh hero Gareth Bale not finding a place while his teammate Aaron Ramsey was listed.
France's Dimitri Payet was named in the team as well, but teammate and striker Olivier Giroud did not find himself in the list despite an equally great performance in the tournament.
Italian goalkeeper and captain Gianluigi Buffon too was ignored in the list despite a terrific show in his final appearance for the national team.
Here is the UEFA team of the tournament:
Goalkeeper: Rui Patricio (Portugal)
Defenders: Joshua Kimmich (Germany), Jerome Boateng (Germany), Pepe (Portugal), Raphael Guerreiro (Portugal)
