Among the five runners in the Sir Charles Forbes Trophy, the feature event of Thursday's eight-race evening card, Excellent Gold has the best credentials to land the winner's prize. Trained by Narendra Lagad, the Excellent Art - Only For Gold four-year-old had lost a class I contest narrowly when bidding for the fifth straight win three weeks ago. Now facing a class II company, he is expected to resume his winning ways in the hands of jockey Dashrath Singh.
Kramer, who seems to be working well on the trial track in an attempt to regain his old form, and the six-year-old Governor General who has been knocking on the door are the two who can attempt to challenge Excellent Gold. However, his current fitness level should see Excellent Gold through over six fulrongs which is just the perfect trip for him.
