The state excise department raided several areas across Mumbai and recovered 170 bottles of liquor worth Rs 1.5 lakh

Three people have been arrested for possession of liquor.

Preliminary inquires have revealed that the accused had smuggled the liquor from Goa and Daman and it was meant to be distributed amongst political party workers during the course of election.

Interestingly, the state has already declared a dry day today and the High Court has granted permission to the bar owners to serve liquor after 5.30pm on February 17, after the counting gets over.

The state excise department will be addressing the media later today.
