Manish Malhotra, who has designed outfits for pop star Michael Jackson, and Hollywood stars Reese Witherspoon and Claude Van Damme, recently designed Kylie Minogue's Blue outfit.

Talking about it, Manish says, "It was thanks to Farah (who is choreographing the song on Kylie Minogue, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan) that I got to design Farah's dress.

It's a dull gold, champagne-coloured Chantilly lace dress with silver metallic lining. Farah got in touch with Kylie and her measurements came in through fax.

Then after the design was done, I met Tony (director Anthony D'Souza), his wife Jasmine and Farah and showed the dress to Kylie at her hotel."

Kylie loved the dress but wanted some changes. Says Manish, "Kylie wanted me to add some dull gold tassels to the dress as she felt that was make the dance movements more sensuous and graceful.

Designing for western celebrities are different from Indian ones I try and design keeping in mind their work and persona."

Farah Khan says, "It's true that I recommended Manish for designing Kylie's outfit. Apart from the fact that he's a very good designer, Manish is also a close friend of mine."
