In case you and the rest of the industry were wondering where Farhan Akhtar is, we'll tell you. It appears that Farhan has for the last two months insulated himself against the outside world to write the screenplay for the sequel to Don.

A worthy successor
Says a source, "Farhan is in competition with his own father. Trying to equal, let aloneu00a0 better whatu00a0 Javed Akhtar wroteu00a0 in the first Don, is not an easy task. He has to get the writing right to make the sequel a worthy successor to the remake of the original Don."

Locked away
Though Farhan is unavailable for comment for the first time (not even his wife and children are allowed to disturb his creative endeavour), Farhan's business partner Ritesh Sidhwani confirms that Farhan is completely locked away from humanity. "He wanted to write a sequel that goes beyond the first film. And I think he has cracked it. Theu00a0 script for Don 2 rocks."

While the core cast - Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Arjun Rampalu00a0- remains unchanged, a large part of the crew including the Director of Photography and the production designer, will change. Don 2 begins shooting in Germany from the summer of 2010.
