Navratri is known for nine nights of playing dandiya and garba. And apart from the revelry, several devout followers of Goddess Amba fast during the festival.

Still, fasting does not mean restricting yourself to eating sabudana; it calls for a visit to Mumbai Ladu Samrat in Lalbaug for their fasting menu that is sought after, throughout the year.

Owner Kamlakar Rakshe tells us that his wife fasts regularly; hence, they have long been experimenting with fasting food recipes, thereby resulting in a wide range of options. Must-try from the menu include the Farali Dosa, Farali Pattice and Farali Thalipith.

The eatery is known for its yummy Misal, so, if you are craving a plate, they have a Farali Misal on offer, too!
