A Bhandup-based man and his son have been arrested for molesting and raping their tenant’s 10-year-old daughter.
The police say the two accused have been molesting and raping her for the past 8 months. The case was registered early on Friday, after which they were arrested.

The girl’s family lives right next to the accused. She has a younger sister and an elder brother. Both their parents head out daily to work. The man is a rickshaw driver. His son works at a private firm.
An officer from Bhandup police station who did not want to be named said, “The girl’s family are tenants of the accused and during the day the girl would be alone at home.
She’d reach home from school before her brother and sister, and the two accused were aware of this. The man (55) would allegedly call her and ask her to get biscuits from a nearby shop and after giving her some, he would touch her private parts.”
Police said the son (25) used to call her to his house and show her pornographic clips on his mobile, after which he would rape her. The officer said, “The girl alleged that the incidents have been taking place for last eight months.
On Thursday evening, she told her mother she was experiencing severe pain in her private parts. Her mother took her to a doctor and that’s when the crime came to light.” The girl and her family went to Bhandup police station where a case was registered.
Senior Inspector P R Chavan from Bhandup police station said the two accused have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
The duo was produced in court on Friday and remanded in police custody.
