Yesterday, when her father left for work and her siblings and mother were out of the house, the teenager poured kerosene on herself and set herself on fire. When family members returned, they found the burnt girl in her room and immediately rushed her to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra. Purshottam was also informed about the mishap.
When he arrived at the hospital, he saw his daughter. Doctors also told him that chances of her survival were slim. In her statement to the hospital, Roshni said that she held no one responsible for the incident, and that she wanted to end her life, as she was fed up of it.
Watching his daughter scream in pain, Purshottam couldn’t absorb the shock of the tragic turn of events and left the hospital. He, later, went to the railway tracks at Khar and committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a Borivli fast local train. The railway police registered the offence and traced his family members with the help of his belongings. Some time later, doctors declared Roshni dead as well.
