Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut turned foes after the latter accused the filmmaker as “the flag-bearer of nepotism” in Bollywood on his show 'Koffee With Karan'. After which, the word nepotism became a rage on social media and otherwise. The entire Bollywood dreaded to use the word nepotism or speak anything about Kangana-Karan spat. The nepotism charade shook the entire industry and questioned the talent potential of the already existing star-kids in the fraternity. Things took a sour turn when Karan, Saif Ali Khan, and Varun Dhawan took a dig at Kangana at one of the renowned award shows, which was followed by statements issued by each one included. Karan had even asked Kangana to stop playing the 'feminsim' card.

However, in the light of the New Year, we guess these stars also want to bury the hatchet and start things afresh. Karan is coming up as a judge on the reality show 'India's Next Superstar', which is co-hosted by 'Golmaal' director Rohit Shetty. Mid-day has learned that Kangana Ranaut is currently shooting as a special judge on the show with Karan Johar. In the picture from the set, they both are seen hugging each other and are all smiles. Will the two let bygones be bygones? Or will Kangana strike again?

At the launch of India's Next Superstars last week, the filmmaker reportedly said he would be happy to have her as a guest. He stated, "Our hearts are big, our home is open. If we send an invite, we will welcome them with respect and love."

Interestingly, the tagline of the show is 'Na Khaandaan Na Sifaarish' (No family reference) and when asked whether he was looking for an opportunity to answer about nepotism, Karan said, "I don't think this tagline was an answer from my side to anything. A lot of people want to be part of the entertainment industry but it is difficult to find a platform. We are providing this platform to all those who are talented."
