Samuel Eto'o has been voted African Player of the Year for a record fourth time. Here are a few things on this star:

>>u00a0Eto'o made his Cameroon debut at the age of just 15 in a match against Costa Rica. At the age of 17, Eto'o was the youngest player at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

>>u00a0His sole goal in the 2002 World Cup against Saudi Arabia during the group stage was Cameroon's only win of the competition.

>>u00a0Eto'o has scored over 100 goals in five seasons with FC Barcelona.

>>u00a0He was named African Footballer of the Year in 2003, 2004, and 2005, making him the first player to win in succession.

>>u00a0In February 2005, during a match with Real Zaragoza, Eto'o was subjected to racist taunts by Zaragoza supporters, who began making monkey-like chants whenever he had possession of the ball.

>>u00a0He was fined 12,000 for chanting "Madrid, cabron, saluda al campeon" (Spanish for 'Madrid, bastards, hail the champions') during a speech at the Nou Camp in 2005.
