Killed Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi's eldest son, Saif al-Islam, was captured close to Tripoli on Saturday after he suffered critical injuries in a raid, officials claimed.
According to rebels, Gaddafi's once heir-apparent son fled Sirte, where his father and brother Mutassim were killed on Friday, and was captured in Zlitan, 100 miles from Tripoli, while receiving treatment for his injuries.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Jibril, Head of the Executive Committee of Libya's National Transitional Council said the Libyan authorities should be allowed to form an interim government after a national congress is elected within eight months. However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov disagreed with the treatment meted out to Gaddafi and said that the Geneva Conventions had been breached with the killing of the dictator.u00a0u00a0
