Chances are you might be confused that you are headed to a sports goods store but Frisbees is nothing close to that. Offering generous options of pizzas, pastas, burgers, salads and desserts, this new takeaway in Andheri’s DN Nagar area, is creating a buzz already, since it opened shop a few weeks back.

Popeye’s Olive Chicken pizza serves as an appetising non-vegetarian option
Giving in to our cravings one evening, and bored of our usual food (read: fast food go-to address), we decided to test Frisbees with a takeaway. Our order included them to deliver A Popeye’s Olive Chicken pizza (Rs 189), a Frisbees All Star Veg pizza (Rs 119), a portion of Cheesy Garlic Bread (Rs 99) and Whole Wheat Pasta with Cheese Sauce (Rs 200 plus Rs 50 for olive and mushroom toppings).
The wait ended after an hour and 10 minutes; by then our hunger pangs had reached another level. But, we were impressed with our spread; we were even delivered a complimentary Lemon Tart, (since we hadn’t ordered for a dessert and as a consolation for coming late). Some apologies were thrown in and we brushed away the delay as a teething issue.
The food was packaged well and was reasonably warm. First up, we dug our teeth into the Popeye’s Olive Chicken, which was a non-vegetarian pizza topped with roasted chicken chunks, spinach, olives, roasted bell peppers, mozzarella, roasted garlic, walnuts and onion jam. The thin crust pizza was delicious to the extent that it was wolfed down in no time.
The Whole Wheat Pasta with Cheese Sauce was scrumptious
Next, we turned our attention towards the Frisbees All Star Veg pizza, which came packed with ingredients like zucchini, roasted bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, mushrooms and mozzarella. This impressed us completely too, and was a meal though it was just an 8 inch pizza.
The pasta with a rich creamy sauce, herbs, pepper, mushrooms and olives (you can change the toppings as per your taste) was a hit and sufficient as a meal for a person while the garlic bread with cheese, made for a perfect accompaniment with the pasta. Finally, we indulged in the Lemon Tart, which melted in the mouth where the lemon flavour rounded off our dinner on a sweet note.
Our only gripe — Frisbees must up their act on the delivery time. Once sorted, it will be one delicious experience for the taking.
