Trials of the blood dragons fails to impress thanks to its yawn-inducing storyline

Game Review: Here's why 'Trials of the Blood Dragons' fails to impress

You would think a combination of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Ubisoft’s Trials bike series would be awesome, but this game is far from it. Trials of the Blood Dragon has the most boring storyline, ever, and the whole ’80s kitsch that worked well in Blood Dragon, fails here miserably.

The Blood Dragon link comes from the fact that the two protagonists are kids of Rex Power Colt, the lead in the Far Cry game. The kids named Roxanne and Slayter are also cyber-commandos and are fighting the forces of communism. Combine this with Trials, a successful bike riding franchise where you have to cross obstacles by riding over them and you have disaster.

We didn’t much like the storyline or the backstory. It didn’t explain much of why the kids were going to war with communists or how every level had so many roads that ran through buildings. The only redeeming aspect of this game is the music, which is perfect for road trips and office commutes. At most, Ubisoft should have given this game out for free. It isn’t worth paying for the privilege of playing less than 30 boring levels of bike stunts with poorly devised controls. That said, the bike levels were still better than the ones that had to be completed on foot.

We would say wait for this to be free. It makes no sense for even a hardcore fan of Far Cry or Trials series to pick this up with hard earned money.
