Former Indian opening pair Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have struck fear into the hearts of many of India's opponents several times, and they have now come out to bat for the CRPF jawans who were attacked by stone pelters in Srinagar during elections in the Kashmir valley.

Images of a stone-pelter hitting Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans have emerged soon after the elections, leaving the nation enraged.

The video of Kashmir youth attacking the Indian paramilitary personnel who were returning after election duty in Srinagar have gone viral and caused a storm on social media.

Well, Gauti and Viru are also upset and expressed their anger on social media.

The two regularly come out in support of the Indian army, especially Sehwag who aggressively bats for the Indian armed forces on social media.

An extremely angry Gambhir asked those seeking freedom from India to leave the country and reiterated that Kashmir belonged to India. He said that for "every slap" on a (Indian) soldier, "100 jihadi lives" should be taken.

He then explained to the "anti-Indians" what the national flag stood for.

THIS IS WHAT GAMBHIR HAD TO SAY:

Sehwag too was highly disturbed by the video and while saying that the ill-treatment of Indian jawans was "unacceptable", wanted the "rot has to stop".

THIS IS WHAT SEHWAG HAD TO SAY:

One of the videos shows a CRPF jawan being heckled, kicked in the shin by a group of youth. Another video shows one of the civilians hitting the jawan on the head. The mob is shouting "India go back" slogans and hurling abuses in Kashmiri. The soldiers, who are in fatigues, though maintain their poise and don't react, but calmly walk away.

The authenticity of the videos haven't been verified though.

The videos were shot on April 9 when violence led to low voter turnout that in turn saw polling being cancelled. Only 7.14 per cent of the 12.61 lakh electorate cast their votes during the polling for by-election to Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency on Sunday amid large scale protests and violence around polling stations at dozens of places across the constituency.
