Gavaskar plans big bash for teammates

Sunil Gavaskar will celebrate his C K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award conferred on him recently by the BCCI in style: With his teammates.

Several teammates at club, first-class, inter-office and international level will be Gavaskar’s guests at the CCI today to celebrate the Little Master’s honour which he rated as “the biggest award in Indian cricket.”

On Saturday, Gavaskar emphasised to Sunday MiD DAY that the players too played a role in his career and he wanted to share his joy with them. His old friend Milind Rege has helped him with the list of players.

Outstation players, who are in Mumbai for the Test match will attend the bash while Gavaskar’s former Mumbai teammates Rakesh Tandon and Shishir Hattangadi will arrive from Pune and Ahmedabad respectively.
