The shirt, worn by Hurst who scored thrice in the final, was offered for between 300,000 and 500,000 pounds ($397,350 to $661,750), but failed to sell despite great interest in the auction, according to a spokesman for Sotheby's, reports Efe.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of England's victory in 1966, when the English team won their only World Cup title with a hat-trick by Hurst and a goal by Martin Peters.
