In times when inflation is high and prices are skyrocketing, there’s hardly any money left to spend on books. Keeping that in mind, Ashish Book Centre has organised a special book fair offering more than one lakh titles at throwaway prices.

The fair, which is on till today, will offer up to 85% discount on all books including popular titles. “You can buy several books on a minimal budget,” says Dhaval Nisar, proprietor of Ashish Book Centre. When asked about the response to the book fair so far, Nisar says, “The fair has been seeing approximately 800 people every day, which shows that the city likes to read; the most popular genre being children’s books and cookery books. There’s also a good demand for fiction and interiors books.”

Nisar adds that lot of book lovers in the city find it difficult to shop for good books because of their busy schedules and time constraints, and this fair will help them save time as they can buy books across genres at one place. “We have books on all subjects — right from advertising and architecture, to computers, fashion, health, history, sports and wild life, and much more, all under one roof. It’s very convenient,” he informs.

Stressing on the importance of reading among children, Nisar says that the bookstore, which has organised book exhibitions in more than 500 educational places (schools and colleges) in Mumbai, is open to do the same in Pune as well.

Till Today, 10 am to 9 pm
At The Institution of Engineers, 1332 JM Road, opposite Modern Café, Shivaji Nagar.
