Get set to shake that booty

Partying till the wee hours is something that booty shakers across town have been fantasising about for the last two years. Each time there is even a slight ray of hope ufffd we don't miss the chance of fuelling the controversy further. And just when Bangaloreans were starting to adhere to the deadline and returning home like sweet Cinderellas, here comes a smart cop.

As soon as the early birds of Bangalore laid their hands of a newspaper on Monday morning, a bright smile lit up their faces. Some screamed, some made calls and informed their friends, while others simply started laying down grand plans. But there sure were a bunch of skeptics who scratched their chin thinking that just a couple of weeks into this new role, Mirji surely has played his cards well.

Like everything else in life, the right way to settle into a new role would be to stay honest and get on with work ufffd but this is no age of Gandhi, it's the age of Assanges and Zuckerbergs. Our new commissioner has chosen the smart way, by targeting a huge crowd.

Says our new Police Commissioner, "I am putting in serious thought into extending the deadline." With this, he pleases almost 80 per cent of the city with just one card. It was when I heard a bunch of youngsters discussion this at the city's hottest partying place, did I realise the impact that Mirji's one statement has created in just 24 hours. And out of nowhere, a usually silent Monday night at hot party spots seemed to look like a weekend with top DJ's spinning at the turntables with a fervent gusto, bartenders displaying flair skills with enthusiasm and socialities dressed to their best...

For a moment it looked like even if Mirji doesn't manage to convince the Yeddys of the world, he won't be blamed. He can say he at least tried. Some wrote long blogs explaining how a night without the frustration of the bar shutting down before life is spelt into a party would help everyone. "Youngsters won't indulge in binge drinking," said a party lover. And another regular blogger claimed, "I won't attend any rave if I could spend some good time at a local pub."

Hmmm... party lovers will have their reasons, the pessimists in namma city however were quite miffed at the idea. Well, all said and done, the spirit surely has returned and a lot of youngsters are already crowding to shine up those stilettos and upgrade their party wardrobe, for soon our Cinderellas will turn into Paris Hiltons once the deadline is extended. Cheers!
