Your guide to Halloween
Halloween is observed annually on October 31 and includes activities such as trick-or-treating, costume parties, carving of pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns and telling scary stories.
Here are some terms you should know about Halloween:

> Trick or treat: Children sport costumes and go from house to house seeking treats such as candy asking Trick or Treat or the threat of a trick performed if there is no treat offered.

> Jack-o'-lantern: A carved pumpkin is known as a Jack-o'-lantern. The top of the pumpkin is cut off, the inside flesh is scooped out and a spooky face is carved onto the pumpkin with a light placed inside to illuminate it.
