Girl commits suicide after boyfriend refuses to marry her

A police officer investigating the case who recorded evidence from the girl's family said that it was a case of failure in love. She hung herself to death while her family members were away on Monday night and left a suicide note, which gave a clue to the police.

Her suicide note had everything struck off except the words, "Mummy, I do not not wish to marry". The girl's parents though didn't mention anything about her affair to the police.

It was a social organisation in the region called Pashchim Maharashtra Seva Samiti which revealed everything and asked the police to take action against a youth named Vijay Gupta, who they alleged had sexually abused the girl under the pretext of marrying her.

The police wasn't even informed of the fact that she had made an unsucessful attempt to end her life two months ago and treated at a hospital at Gupta's expense.

Allegedly, her suicide note had mentioned Gupta's name which was struck off along with other text and hence there was a demand to register an offence against him.

Police sub-inspector Kishore Tawde of the Sri Nagar police station told PTI that according to information given by her parents, it seems to be a case of failed love. Further investigations are on, he said.u00a0
