Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today said here that instead of nominating the master cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to the Rajya Sabha, the Union Government should award him the Bharat Ratna award.

He was answering a question about the government's nomination of Tendulkar to the upper house of the Parliament.
While Shiv Sena executive president, Uddhav Thackeray, who also attended the function, said cryptically that "Congress and Sachin know well what is going on between them".
