The New Wave Paithani Festival completes 25 years and to mark the occasion they are hosting a fashion show, showcasing 250 variants of Paithani sarees, Paithanis in geometric prints, and in pastel and off-white shades. They will also offer varieties of dress materials, accessories, hand-made bags, clutches and purses and handloom sarees like Chanderi, Maheshwari, Orissa Silk, Banarasi, Kantha, Kosa, Ilkat, Rajasthani and South Silk. There are also four free stalls for NGOs.

Handicrafts galore

An ode to the Ganges
11 am Check out artworks by Italian photographer Antonio di Canito, recipient of Arte Laguna Prize 13:14, who received a month-long residency in India as part of the award. He visited Varanasi, Delhi and Pondicherry and conceptualised a project inspired by the Ganga presenting portraits of ordinary women immersed in water with only their heads showing over its surface.

The art of animation
11 am to 5 pm Attend a special screening of The Boxtrolls by The Animation Society of India. Steve Emerson, co-VFX supervisor on the film will attend. The event will include an introduction to stop-motion animation, 3D printing and behind-the-scenes footage.
