A water is life exhibition on at SIES High School, Matunga, is a fluid celebration of a landmark 80 years for the school

>> The exhibition is called Water Is Life or Jalameva Jeewanam.

>> There are several live models at the exhibition, charts made by students, models of rain harvesting, water treatment, bottling plant, cloud seeding and major dams. Several schools and the BARC, BMC and postal department are participating.

>> V Shankar, SIES president, said it is the first step to launch a movement for conservation, reclaiming polluted water and increasing awareness of this scarce resource.

>> The institution has collected sample waters from all major holy rivers in India numbering close to 90.

>> To reinforce the message there are posters, paintings, drawings, quiz competitions and elocution competitions all on water. '

>> Dr R Chidambaram, principal scientific advisor to the Prime Minister, presented awards on work in water conservation and reclaiming polluted waters.

>> Some of the recipients of these awards were: Magsaysay Award winner, Rajinder Singh, Prakash Limaye, retired BMC engineer.
