The question paper that stumped all the students
The frenzy around cricketer Virat Kohli extended to a question paper of a Hindi medium school in Bhiwandi. The one-mark question that stumped the Std IX students of Chacha Nehru Hindi High School was asked for their written Physical Training (PT) examination that was held on October 13, last Thursday.
And here is the correct answer to that question
The question was – What is the name of Virat Kohli’s girlfriend – and the choices were given as Priyanka, Anushka, Deepika. Though the students had fun giving the answer, the principal was not amused.
“After the previous PT teacher retired in 2012, we had informed the education officer (Ashok Misal, education officer of Thane district) repeatedly but the position is still vacant. Since we have to run the school and conduct exams, I had asked the Hindi teacher to set the question paper,” said A R Pandey, the principal.
The question paper that has gone viral was set by Manoj Rai, the Hindi teacher of the school, who was asked to provide clarification.
As soon as it came to the principal’s notice, he issued a showcause notice to Rai, who eventually apologised, claims the principal.
While Misal did not respond to any calls or messages despite repeated attempts, Kapil Patil, Member of Legislative Council from teachers constituency said, “The next generation is ahead in these topics. But it is funny to know that question papers are also going much ahead of it.”

‘Who doesn’t know it? But we were not expecting such a question.’
Father of a student, Bhiwandi resident
‘This is one of the oldest and one of the respected Hindi medium schools of Bhiwandi and it was completely unexpected. It is sad to know that they do not have teachers for some subjects. If existing teachers are asking such questions in examination, we can only imagine how the subject is being taught.’
