In an incident not seen often on a cricket field, a groundsman today collapsed at the ground midway into the second day of the first Test between India and the West Indies at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium here.

The groundsman, who came in with drinks for the players when the umpires called drinks break in the post-lunch session, suddenly fell down and remained lying there for a while with the players and his companions taking some time to get to know of his collapse.

A player of the fielding West Indies side brought to the notice of the person's collapse to the other ground staffers.

He, however, was able to walk back out of the ground for medical attention with some help from his fellow groundsmen.
