Mahesh Kamath told police he had raped the bitch

Mahesh Kamat (35) expressed no remorse for raping a bitch inside a MHADA building compound in an inebriated state on Saturday night.

When MiD DAY met the taxi driver at the Tardeo police station yesterday, he answered all the queries and looked unperturbed about committing the act.

He, however, kept repeating that he did not recollect what happened that night. "I have not done anything.

I don't remember anything because I was not in my senses," said Kamath. Neither did he remember being beaten by residents of the building.

Police statement

However, in a statement to the police, Mahesh admitted, "Haan, maine kiya hai" when asked whether the allegations against him were true.

"He replied with a 'Hogaya, hogaya' when we asked him why he raped the bitch.

We have sent the clothes he wore that night to the Kalina forensic laboratory and are waiting for his medical reports," said Ramesh Shankar Gadade, senior inspector at Tardeo police station.
