Harrison Ford is in negotiation to star in Call of the Wild, 20th Century Fox's adaptation of the classic 1903 Jack London tale. The film, directed by The Croods director Chris Sanders, is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2019, Deadline reported.

Logan writer Michael Green has written the script, which follows prospector John Thornton on his trek across the Canadian Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush. If a deal is settled, Harrison Ford will be playing the role of John Thornton in the film.

The original novel focused on Buck, a dog who ends up becoming Thornton's closest ally in the wilderness. The role of Thornton was played by Clark Gable and Charlton Heston in the previous film adaptation of the novel.
