Has Karan Johar taken on too many projects than he can handle?

It was only recently that Karan Johar joined hands with Akshay Kumar for a film to be directed by Punit Malhotra.

Has Karan Johar taken on too many projects than he can handle?

While a lot has been said about Akki and KJo coming together for the first time (for their first-ever production), what remains to be seen is when this film would finally go on the floors.

Currently, KJo has multiple projects lined up through his various associations and under his own individual banner. But sources question if the director-producer will be able to wrap up all projects in time.

Rohit Shetty

A source says, “Karan Johar’s production to be directed by Rohit Shetty is yet to start. It was announced more than a year ago. Incidentally, Rohit has already started his film with Shah Rukh Khan and the work on Singham’s sequel has already begun.”

On the same note apparently there has been no further development on Karan’s co-production with Ekta Kapoor, to be helmed by Abhishek Verman. Beside that, there is no further progress on his film with Ruchi Narain.” Apart from Sonam Nair’s film, which is yet to be completed, none of the other films have gone on floors.

Another birdie chirps, “Karan is busy trying to get his own script together. He had also purchased the rights of the bestseller novel The Immortals of Meluha that was to be adapted into a film. That too has not moved forward.”

With so many projects patiently waiting in the sidelines, the only three KJo films on the roll right now are Ayan Mukerji’s directorial with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Rensil D’Silva’s next and his co-production with Sajid Nadiadwala based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel.

Has Karan bitten off more than he can chew? Only time will tell. u00a0
