Nine tips for fabulous hair
Wash your hair regularly and keep the scalp clean to avoid acne on your face. This also helps reduce the chances of folliculitis or inflammation of the hair follicle. The chances of wet dandruff also increase during the season.
2. Use a sulphate-free shampoo and condition your hair to hydrate it.
3. Carry an anti-frizz spray that helps banish stray and out of place hair. With their vitamin and essential oil contents they help nourish dry hair too. Spray it after every six to seven hours when outside.
4. Those with coloured hair should cover it in the sun as it helps prevent oxidisation of the colour, that leads to dry, bleach-y looking hair. Use a leave-in conditioner with sunscreen in it.
5. Avoid getting two chemical treatments at once such as touch up for roots and a smoothening treatment.
6. Avoid using heating tools, and if you absolutely must, use a pre-heating serum that will protect your hair against the heat.
7. Use vitamin-enriched mild cleansers for chemically treated hair that build a protective layer over your hair and help the treatment stay longer.
8. To get rid of tangles in your hair, brush your hair from the bottom. If you brush from the top, you pull tangles together and eventually create knots, making it harder to take care
of hair.
9. Wet your hair or apply conditioner before you go swimming. This will avoid the absorption of salt or chlorine in the sea or pool. If hair is already wet, absorption will be minimal.
