Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah-starrer Waiting is all set to hit theatres on May 27. Ideally, the duo should have been promoting the film together but for the time being only the actor will hold fort. Reason? Kalki is in the Northeast shooting for a travel show and will return to the city by May 23 — just three days before the film’s release.

Informs a source, “Kalki left on May 6 and will remain unavailable till May 23. A few promotional activities are lined up, but only Naseeruddin Shah will be a part of it. Kalki would not even be available on phone for media interactions.”
The source adds that she had informed the makers of her absence well in advance. “Kalki had told them about her schedule and that she wouldn’t be able to attend promotional activities between May 6 and May 23,” says the source.
When contacted, producer Priti Gupta says, “Our actors, Kalki and Naseeruddin Shah were part of several film festivals where the film was screened. We were supposed to release the film earlier, but since it started doing the rounds of film festivals, we felt we should move the date to May. Kalki will resume promotions once she returns.”
