Cartwright was equally well complemented by Beau Webster (79) and Nic Maddinson (81) as Australia ‘A’ cashed in on the best batting conditions to end the day on 319-5, an overall lead of 150.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya failed to add to this overnight score of 79 as India ‘A’ was bowled out for 169.
With a little bit of moisture on the pitch from overnight rain, Shardul Thakur dismissed Joe Burns and Travis Dean in space of 10 balls to leave Australia reeling at 11-2.
Maddinson had a fair amount of luck as he somehow survived the first 10 balls before smashing Thakur for three fours in one over. With the score reading 45-2, Maddinson edged one to wicketkeeper Naman Ojha, but unfortunately for India, umpire ruled Aaron had overstepped the line. It was a defining moment of the match as Maddinson continued on make merry and scored a fluent 81 before finally edging Jayant Yadav to the slips.
