A group of cricket enthusiasts made a generous gesture towards hockey, by donating hockey gear to Yuvraj Valmiki's coach M J Patel -- meant for kids who train under him.

A group of cricket enthusiasts made a generous gesture towards hockey, by donating hockey gear to Yuvraj Valmiki's coach M J Patelu00a0-- meant for kids who train under him.



Patel or 'Bawa' as he is fondly known in hockey circles was being felicitated during a final of a cricket match held over the weekend, where members ofu00a0 Vartak Nagar Youth Forum, Thane presented him with two hockey kits consisting eight sticks and eight pairs of sports shoes.u00a0

"This is the first time that somebody associated with cricket has gone out of their way to help a man like me. Instead of providing monetary help they presented us goods worth R12,000. In my long association with hockey I haven't received a single penny from the hockey fraternity," Bawa told MiD DAY yesterday.
