Hockey World League: Dutch edge out Korea for gold

Antwerp: World's No 1 women's hockey team Netherlands beat back an incredible challenge from Asian Games champions Korea to eke out a 2-1 win with just three minutes left on the clock on in the Fintro Hockey World League Semi-finals at the KHC Dragons Stadium.

After two goalless and hard-fought quarters, it was Korea, who struck first trough Kim Bomi from a penalty corner. Netherlands raided a lot, but Koreans crowded them and after a few penalty corners, the Dutch finally hit home through a drag flick by Caia Maasakker with one minute left in third quarter.

In the 57th minute, Lidewij Welten picked a ball just inside Korean half and made brilliant run right up to the goalline and then passed back to Ellen Hoog who shot of Dutch and Korean legs.
